What LearnLeaf Communities is

LearnLeaf Communities is software that lets people set up and run their own local community groups — from parent groups to street or neighbourhood communities — and coordinate meetups within them, similar in spirit to a Facebook Group or a WhatsApp group, but purpose-built. LearnLeaf provides the platform only. We don't organise, run, host, staff, or attend any meetup ourselves, and we don't vet the people who attend one in person beyond the account-level checks described below.

Your account

You must be an adult (18 or over) to create an account — this platform is for adults only, not for children to use directly. You're responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Give us accurate information when you sign up — in particular, your postcode needs to be real for local search to work properly.

Community guidelines

These baseline rules apply everywhere on LearnLeaf Communities. An organiser can add further rules for their own group on top of these, but never in place of them:

• A parent or guardian must attend every meetup with their own child — this is not a childcare or drop-off arrangement.
• Be respectful. Organisers can set extra rules for their own community, but everyone follows these baseline rules everywhere on LearnLeaf Communities.
• No child's name, age, school, or any other identifying detail should be posted publicly.
• Report anything concerning to the community organiser, or to LearnLeaf directly for serious issues.

Organisers

If you create a community, you're responsible for reviewing who joins it, for day-to-day moderation of your group, and for making sure meetups you post follow these rules. Every new community is reviewed by LearnLeaf before it goes live, and requires two co-organisers before approval — but that review is a safety check, not LearnLeaf taking on responsibility for how your group is run day to day. You can add your own rules on top of the platform-wide ones above, appoint up to two co-organisers to help you moderate, and remove a member from your own group at any time.

LearnLeaf's role and liability

LearnLeaf Communities is a software platform, not the organiser of, and not responsible for, any specific meetup, activity, or in-person gathering arranged through it. We don't carry out identity checks, DBS checks, or any other real-world vetting of organisers or members — the same model used by services like Facebook Groups, Meetup, or Discord. Where a meetup involves children, parents and guardians are expected to attend alongside their own children — and every member is expected to exercise their own judgement about who they meet and where.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LearnLeaf is not liable for anything that happens at an in-person meetup arranged through the platform, for the actions of any organiser or member, or for the accuracy of anything an organiser or member posts. The platform is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind.

Reporting and enforcement

If something concerning happens, report it — either to the community's organiser, or directly to LearnLeaf using the report links throughout the site, or by emailing us (see below). We review reports and can remove content, or apply a platform-wide ban that blocks someone from joining or starting any community, not just one. We can also remove a community entirely if it breaches these terms.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from your account settings. We can also suspend or terminate access for anyone who breaches these terms or the community guidelines above.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the platform develops. If we make a significant change, we'll do our best to make that clear on the site. Continuing to use LearnLeaf Communities after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
